"I also intend to designate organizations as terrorist entities in the Global Executive Order 13224."

By taking that step, Clinton met with the deadlines set by Congress to make a decision about whether going to blacklist the group.

The decision was made ??based on the strategy and the overall U.S. agenda in Afghanistan, which consists of five elements, namely the ability of Afghanistan to combat militants, transition security tasks, build partnerships with Afghanistan, Afghan-led reconciliation pursuit, and develop an international consensus statement by Clinton .

After giving the terrorist designation, the U.S. government banned any support or engage in transactions with the Haqqani network. This group assets under U.S. jurisdiction are frozen.

Washington has targeted key members of this group to be penalized, which is associated with several deadly attacks against U.S. forces and NATO-led coalition in Afghanistan.
